April 4, 2021

British-Kenyan. Economist and diplomat. Founder and CEO of Development Reimagined, adviser. Development Reimagined is a pioneering international development consultancy in China, advising in particular: Chinese businesses how to invest in Africa sustainably; sustainable African businesses how to enter the Chinese market; and working with governments, UN bodies and NGOs to strengthen their China–Africa policies. Hannah and her team are the go-to advisors for African governments and several international bodies to make sense of and strategize on the future of Africa-China cooperation. Hannah’s practical action is driven by her mission to end poverty - particularly in Africa - by helping the world reimagine its global relationships and make them work, starting with China, the continent’s largest bilateral trade partner. A former diplomat and economist, her understanding of international relations was honed as one of the youngest negotiators for the UK in climate change talks. With close to 20 years of experience, she is also Senior Associate at the Center for Strategic International Studies, and sits on the Executive Board of the British Chamber of Commerce in China. She has won several awards for her leadership in China and Africa and her contributions to gender/race diversity and youth development, has played various advisory roles for the UN, and is regularly cited in and invited to write/talk on global media outlets such as Bloomberg, Project Syndicate, Quartz Africa, the Diplomat, the Guardian, CGTN, TRT, and more. She is fluent in English, proficient in elementary Chinese, French and Swahili. (https://developmentreimagined.com/)
